How To Install A Font
The font must first be installed for it to be available in the operating system (Windows, macOS, etc.) and for it to be used in programs such as Photoshop, MS Word, and others.
The fonts themselves are distributed as files with the extension TTF or OTF.
Here’s how you can conveniently install a font in Windows 10:
- Download the desired font;
- To begin, open the font file by double-clicking on it.
- In the window that appears, you will see a small description of the font, its lettering, and the “Install” button. Click it;
- The installation of the font will begin; that is, it’s copied into a special folder where all Windows fonts are stored. In front of you will be the corresponding window with an indicator;
- When the installation is complete, the “Install” button will become inactive;
- Once you’ve completed the installation, open Word, Photoshop, or another program, and you’ll find the newly installed font in the list of available fonts.
